Womens Golf in 16th at Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. The Oklahoma women's golf team finished 16th with a 327 (+39) after the first round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, on Friday. Nebraska took the top spot after firing a 302.

Senior Emily Milberger, who is tied for eighth, leads the Sooners after shooting a three-over-par 75. Freshman Heather Wright trails Milberger by seven strokes and is tied for 57th.

With an 84 (+11), freshman Kelly Jacques finished the first round in a tie for 63rd. Junior Amparo Gala shot an 87 (+14) and is tied for 90th, while sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer shot one stroke behind Gala and is tied for 95th with an 88.

Megan Goodwin, who is competing as an individual, carded a 90 (+18) and is in 98th place.

The tournament, hosted by the University of Texas, is being played at the 6,323-yard, par-72 University Golf Course. The second round will begin at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
