NORMAN, Okla. The No. 10 Oklahoma Sooners women's gymnastics team lost its first meet of the season, 196.775-195.725, to the No. 9 Nebraska Cornhuskers.
Nebraska (2-3) scored better than 49.0 on all four events to sweep the contest. Oklahoma (7-1) failed to win a discipline or have an individual winner for the first time this season.
Nebraska's Richelle Simpson won the individual all-around (39.5) and picked up wins on vault, with a 9.95 score, and balance beam (9.925).
Sooner co-captain Erin LaBarr placed second on the uneven bars with a 9.875. NU's Kristi Esposito won the event, scoring a 9.925 with her routine.
Oklahoma's Ashley Cooney captured second place in the all-around competition with a season-high score of 39.4.
The win pushes Nebraska's 12-year regular-season home winning streak to 53 meets.
The Oklahoma Sooners return to competition Sunday, Feb. 13, against the Georgia Bulldogs. The meet, which begins at 4 p.m., will take place at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
