Women's Golf in 12th Place After Round One

NORMAN, Okla.
The 26th-ranked Oklahoma women's golf team concluded the first round of play in 12th place at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The Sooners shot a 319 (+31) and trail first-place Auburn by 20 strokes.

Senior Emily Milberger leads the team after carding a 77. She is tied for 20th overall.

Junior Amparo Gala is in a tie for 30th after firing a 79. Freshman Heather Wright finished the round one stroke behind Gala and is in a tie for 38th.

Freshman Kelly Jacques shot a 83 to put her in a tie for 57th. Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners is sophomore Megan Goodwin, who is tied for 72nd after shooting a 87.

The second round of the tournament, which is hosted by Purdue University, will resume tomorrow at 8 a.m. EST. The final round will be played on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
