NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma freshman phenom Courtney Paris has been nominated for 'Bay Area Athlete of the Year' by the Oakland Tribune. The center on the Oklahoma women's basketball team is averaging 22.2 points and 14.7 rebounds per game and is leading all NCAA Division I players with nine double-doubles.
Paris is a Bay Area native that was named USA Today National Player of the Year after her senior season at Piedmont High School. She also led the Highlanders to two state titles while averaging 27 points and 19 rebounds.
