November 22, 2005 | Football

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma coaches and players met with the media on Tuesday at the weekly football press conference at the Kerr-McGee Stadium Club inside Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium in Norman.

Oklahoma hosts OSU at Owen Field in the regular season finale for both teams.

The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and will be televised by ABC Sports. Please consult Sooner Gameday Central for complete media options, information for fans attending the game and team comparisons.

OU HEAD COACH
BOB STOOPS
On the last home game:
“I really put it in the hands of our seniors. It is their last game here at home. They really need to finish in a strong and positive way and our players recognize that. We are looking forward this week to a great practice and getting prepared for it. This Saturday will complete the regular season and then we will move on to bowl preparation.”

On the OSU game:
“I think this is an important game. The bottom line is we still need to win and try to complete our season in a positive way. You can compare records and there has been as number of years where we have all been in situations where we are not all at the top and undefeated, but all the games are important.”

On the seniors:
“To me, the seniors are always my special group in that they have been here for so long. I look back when they first came in, how raw and young they were and how many guys are going to change and develop through the years. Each one is special and this is a good group of guys. They really worked through a lot this year and hopefully we can finish with them in a positive way.”

On Rhett Bomar early in the season till now:
“His overall view of the game has slowed down considerably. He is so much more at ease in there and he reads defenses and sees what we are doing a lot quicker. He makes a read where he is going with the ball a lot quicker. He is more confident and aggressive on his release and what he is going after. He has been more accurate because of those two factors: confidence and delivering the football. He trusts his protection a lot better and he should because it has gotten a lot better. Receivers are also playing better for him and that helps him with having more confidence.”

SENIOR DEFENSIVE LINEMAN DUSTY DVORACEK
On senior night:

“It is so exciting to play against our rivals like OSU. It makes it more awesome. I have played them three times and I'm one and two against them. I think this is the only team I have played against who I have a losing record to. It really means a lot to get this win and to play here in front of our fans. I really want to play my best game ever. I'm just really excited and can't wait till Saturday.”

On playing Oklahoma State:
“They have beaten us more times than we have beaten them since I have played them. I just want to win. With those guys, it is an in-state rivalry. Whoever wins that game has bragging rights over the other one in the state for the next year. It means a lot to this program and to our players. Being my last game, I really want to win.”

“They are a team that has gotten better each week. It doesn't lose any luster for me. It doesn't matter if we were 0-10 coming into this game. I'm going to give it all I've got like it is our national championship.”

On the season:
“You go into the season wanting to win every game and that is the goal to start off with. It has been up and down. I've been so proud of this team. I think we showed last week, even though we didn't win, that we are going to fight till the bitter end. I think that we did that and we fought and scrapped till the end. I think we showed that we have gotten better each week. Everybody told us that we don't have a chance making a bowl game and I think it showed a lot of the character and pride of this team. We came back from that 2-3 record and turned it around and now we have a chance of making a really good bowl game.”

SENIOR LINEBACKER CLINT INGRAM
On playing Oklahoma State:

“The way I always look at it coming into a game, no team really has a record. It is a battle between two of the teams in Oklahoma. Every time we go out there and play them it's a hard ballgame. They come out and play hard. It's about playing all the way through.”

On his last game at OU:
“It's kind of sad. At the beginning of the year, I kind of wanted it to slow down a little bit because I knew this day would come fast and it did.”

“It would be great coming out with a win over anybody. Being Oklahoma State, that is our in-state rival, we aren't going to get overwhelmed and just go crazy at the game. It is going to be pretty intense, especially for the seniors.”

On the senior players and senior day:
“It will be real special. Those of us that have been around for awhile have gotten real close. We are kind of like brothers. For those of us who have to go our separate ways, it will be a sad situation.”
