Sooners Complete Third Day at All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. Senior Tommy Garrison of the Oklahoma men's tennis team competed in the third round of the singles qualifying event at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships in Tulsa on Wednesday.
Garrison, who faced Stanford's Matt Bruch, lost the match, 6-2, 6-0, in straight sets.
“This was a great experience, and I feel honored to have even made the tournament,” Garrison said. “This was a good stepping stone to gauge where I'm at and see what I need to improve on for the rest of the year.”
Junior Marek Velicka, the only Sooner left in the tournament, will begin action Thursday in the main singles draw. Velicka will face Illinois' Ryler DeHeart, who is the No. 1 seed in the tournament.
