TULSA, Okla. - Four Oklahoma men's tennis players competed in the second day of action at the Polo Ralph Lauren All-American Tennis Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa on Tuesday. Senior Tommy Garrison was the lone Sooner to advance to the third day of competition.

After defeating Terence Nugent of Auburn on Monday, Garrison faced Wichita State's Goran Vujakilja in second-round action of the singles qualifying event. Garrison defeated Vujakilja, 7-5, in the first set but dropped a 6-3 decision in the second set. With a 6-4 victory in the third set, Garrison won the match to move on to the round of 32.

In the doubles qualifying event, Garrison teamed up with fellow senior Matt Long to face Bram ten Berge and Pablo Juan Di Cesare of Ole Miss. The Sooner duo fell, 8-5, and was eliminated from the tournament.

Also eliminated from doubles competition were sophomore Federico Chavarria and senior Alexei Ivanov, who competed against Alex Jago and James Spence of Memphis and lost, 8-6.

Garrison and junior Marek Velicka are the only Sooners remaining in the tournament. Garrison will hit the court again on Wednesday to face Stanford's Matt Bruch to vie for a spot in the main singles draw. Velicka, who earned a bid into the main singles draw, will begin competition Thursday.
