COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- Oklahoma used a career-high tying 26 point performance by Leah Rush to capture a 63-51 Big 12 victory over Texas A&M in College Station Saturday. The 6-1 sophomore forward connected on a career-best 13 field goals on 17 attempts for an impressive 76.5 field goal accuracy inside Reed Arena.
The Sooners (11-5, 3-2 Big 12) tipped the game off by hitting eight of its first 11 shots (72.7%), including three three-pointers within the first five minutes. The Sooners shot 53.3 percent from the field, hitting 16-of-30 shots, to take a 35-28 halftime lead. Rush had 14 points at half.

The Sooners defense stepped up in the second half. OU held the Aggies (11-5, 2-4 Big 12) to a single basket on 22 tries for a 6.7 field goal percentage before the 12 minute mark. Oklahoma stretched its lead to 16-points, 46-30, and never allowed the Aggies closer than 11-points for the remainder of the game.
Senior All-America candidate Dionnah Jackson and junior Laura Andrews produced the teams' first pair of double-doubles. Jackson established a Reed Arena record with 16 assists, second most in OU history, and matched a personal-best 15 rebounds for her sixth double-double of the season. Jackson's 11 assists in the first half matched her previous career high.
Andrews had her second career double-double with season highs of 15 points and 10 boards, one rebound shy a her career high. Andrews' three made treys were her first in Big 12 play. Rush added eight rebounds, two shy of a double double. Morenike Atunrase led Texas A&M (11-5, 2-4) with 16 points. Erica Roy added 10. The most impressive stat of the game was OU's 25 assists to its 28 made field goals. The Sooners only attempted four free throws, compared to 39 OU shot in Norman, and held a 44-to-33 edge on the boards. However, OU was forced into 19 turnovers and gave up 20 offensive rebounds to the scrappy Aggies. Oklahoma returns to Norman with a Big 12 road win and will host nationally-ranked Texas Wednesday at 7 p.m. Single game tickets are available for just $8 for adults and $5 for youth.

TAM ended the game shooting 30.4 percent (21-of-69) from the field, while Oklahoma shot a season-best 52.8 percent (28-for-53) and for the ninth-straight game the Sooners shot better than 40 percent from the floor.
