Nicholson to Play in East-West Shrine Game

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma strong safety Donte Nicholson will play for the West squad in the East-West Shrine Game on Saturday, Jan. 15, in San Francisco's SBC Park. It is the 80th edition of the game.

Nicholson started all 27 games during his OU career. He was the Sooners' fourth-leading tackler in the recently completed 2004 season.  He logged 72 stops, including three for loss and two sacks.  The Ramona, Calif., native had six pass deflections and one interception (at Texas A&M), which he returned 32 yards.

Oregon State head coach Mike Riley will lead the West team, while Purdue's Joe Tiller will be his counterpart for the East.

 Kickoff is set for 1 p.m., CST, and the game will be aired live on ESPN.
