Three Sooners Bound for Senior Bowl

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's Mark Clayton, Brandon Jones and Lance Mitchell are on the preliminary rosters for the Senior Bowl on Jan. 29, in Mobile Ala.   Final rosters are set to be released Jan. 23.  The game is set to kickoff at 3 p.m., and will be televised by ESPN.

Clayton finished his career as the most prolific pass catcher in Oklahoma history, as he set career records for pass receptions with 223, receiving yards with 3,247, touchdown catches with 31 and career 100-yard receiving games with 15.

A first-team AFCA All-American and consensus All-Big 12 selection, the 5-11, 187-pounder from Arlington, Texas, caught 66 passes for 876 yards and 8 touchdowns in 2004, and had 83 catches for 1,425 yards and 15 TD's as a junior in 2003.

Mitchell, also a first-team All-Big 12 selection,  recorded 78 tackles, ten for loss, two sacks, five pass break-ups and two fumble recoveries in 2004. In 2002, he was OU's leading tackler with 124 stops and 19 for loss.  Mitchell then missed almost the entire 2003 season due to a torn ACL injury.

Jones caught 27 passes for 345 yards and three scores in 2004, and added 46 catches for 709 yards and 8 TD's during a stellar junior season in 2003.
