Head Coach Mike Leach
On Kansas:
“I think we were lucky to win this game in the same Kansas was lucky it was as close as it was. We had some bad breaks in the first half. The luck rolled in both directions. The interceptions were kind of freaky. We need to play more consistently. The good news is we did overcome it and our team pulled together. We shut them out in the second half. Sometime we have bad things happen that break up our rhythm. It is hard to keep a good rhythm. We know we are going to have to overcome adversity but I think we are pretty good at that.”

On Oklahoma:
“You have to treat it as any other game. We have to go out and play the best we can. They are a good team and we have to worry about going there and playing our best. We have to keep playing the next play and not worry about the scoreboard. They have great players. They line them up and work on basic skills and techniques. They are coached well and they play well.”

On Cumbie's Performance:
“I thought it was pretty good. There are definitely things he can improve on. He's like every quarterback I have had in the past. I was never totally satisfied with any of them but I was impressed every step of the way at the same time. Nothing has changed there. Some people are spoiled. They remember Kliff's last year but not his first three years.”

On the Slow Starts:
“I don't know what it is. I wish we didn't do it. We need to practice like we should play and hopefully it will carry over to the game. We need to keep our heads in the game for all four quarters, not just the second half.”

On the Defense:
“Our defense is doing a great job. They are keeping us in the ball game every week. Our defense gave us two wins playing the way they are.”

On his Performance:
“Football is a team sport. There is no “I” in team. I'm just going to do what I can do to help us win a ball game. If I don't score touchdowns it won't matter to me, as long as we are winning games. I have seven games left in my college career and I'm going to make the best of them.”

Senior LB Mike Smith
On the Defense's Performance:
“We knew we were a better team than them. They weren't doing anything we hadn't seen before. We needed to go out there and make big plays. Our defense has a big heart and we are not going to quit. We are better than we were last year and everybody knows that. We are not going to give up; we play four quarters of football. We are guaranteed that.”

On Oklahoma:
“This is a big week for our defense. It's our time to show the nation what kind of defense we have and how much better we are this season. It's a big week for practicing and watching film. Everybody needs to do their job and get ready for Saturday.”

“Every game is a big game, especially on the road. We need to be prepared just as we would for any other game. It's a big game and I'd like to come away with a victory against them

On Team Performance:
“You don't know what is going to happen in football. Everyone needs to be prepared. Our guys have been playing really tough and have been out through a lot of situations. We need to work as a team and learn from our mistakes and be prepared for next week (OU).”

Senior QB Sonny Cumbie
On the Slow Start:
“We need to play hard every week until we get it straightened out. It is about what we are doing and aren't doing. We need to get out there in practice this week and work on it and go out there Saturday and start fast. You get down on a team like OU and what was 20 points become 30 or 40. The comebacks have been great and exciting and it has been a fun ride, but we want to start out faster than we have been. Digging ourselves in a 20-point hole against OU is going to be tough.”

On the Defense:
“They have been huge. Their performance has been outstanding this season and it continues that way. You can't say enough about them. Their performance with the adversity they have faced and the way they have handled it speaks volumes for their coaches and their players and their mentality. Mike Smith exemplifies what the defense is about. Mike's not going to quit and that is how the defense plays. They are not going to quit. If something bad happens they are not going to quit or stop playing hard.”

On Kansas' Defense:
“They did a good job of getting their hands up at the line of scrimmage. They did a good job of timing things and jumping up to try to bat things down. You have to give credit to them. I need to be more cautious about not throwing over receivers. We have no margin of error. We don't expect to throw three interceptions in the first half.”

On Coach Leach at halftime at Kansas:
“He's a great coach and he had a lot of great things to say. I think the way he handles this team and the way he handles situations like Saturday is what has made him become the great coach that he is.”

Junior RB Taurean Henderson
On his Last Run:
“I was surprised when we got the running play call. I just saw daylight, an opening. The offensive line opened it up and I ran for the touchdown. We you get the ball; you are always thinking score. We always have a great team effort.”

On the Defense:
“The defense is playing great. We would have lost that ball game if it weren't for them. They shut them out during the second half. We (the offense) are capable of scoring. We just need to start scoring in the first half.”

On the Slow Start:
“In this type of game you have to come in focused and we have to work hard every day in practice. We have to pull through no matter what happens. When we get down we have to stay confident."
