Oklahoma Head Coach Bob Stoops
Opening Statement:
"Getting back to the game against Oregon, I was really proud of the players putting together another solid victory -- winning 31-7 at home. I think it's fair to say to going into the game that all the things we went through the week before there was a little distraction and the guys didn't have all the excitement they usually have, but still were very business-like in their approach and got things done on both sides of the ball.

Offensively, I was very pleased with how we played in the fourth quarter and finished running the ball. Our third down conversion rate really improved. Jason White was just incredibly efficient on third downs. Mark Clayton breaking another record with a lot of big third down plays. Adrian Peterson running the ball is really exciting to watch. Our offensive line played very well, especially Vince Carter. Our offensive players of the game were Carter, White, Clayton, Peterson and J.D. Runnels.
Defensively, we were very solid as well in holding them to seven points. We singled out Larry Birdine and Clint Ingram as our defense players of the game. Clint played very strong out there and was also a special teams player of the game along with Russell Dennison and Trey DiCarlo.
All in all, a really strong victory and it's good to be 3-0. Perfect time for a bye week. We'll use this bye week to polish up the areas we need to work on and we'll also do some work on other teams' schemes."
On the heat during the game:
"I felt good about where our guys were. They really hung in well and we didn't experience any problems. Our strength staff does an incredible job in preparing our guys for the year and hot games like this."
On the secondary:
"I felt pretty good about the secondary. I think there were a couple of plays that we could have played better, but for the most part I felt pretty solid about it."
On third down improvement:
"I think what helped us in converting third downs was mainly success in running the ball. Jason's accuracy and efficiency are big factors, too. Coach Long also does a good job of finding plays that we are able to execute and convert for first downs."
On offensive line:
"I thought those guys played great. Chris Bush, the week before playing for Davin Joseph, had a great game. Coach Wilson looks at him as a starter. He can play about any position on the line for us. Chris Messner got in there and did a great job. I'm sure he'll learn and improve more."
