Women Golfers in Seventh Place at Lady Northern

NORMAN, Okla. In its first tournament of the season, the Oklahoma women's golf team is in seventh place at the Lady Northern Invitational in Ann Arbor, Mich., after shooting a 606 (+30) in two rounds of play. The Sooners trail first-place Michigan and Missouri by 21 strokes.

The 15-field team is playing at the 5,966-yard, par 72 University of Michigan Golf Course and is composed of three top 25 teams.

Senior Emily Milberger and junior Amparo Gala are tied for 12th after shooting a 149 (+5) and trail the leader Maria Ohlsson (Missouri) by eight strokes. Freshman Kelly Jacques is tied for 28th after a round of 153 (+9). Heather Wright is tied for 43rd after shooting a 156 (+12) while sophomore Jaclyn Stelzer is one stroke behind Wright and tied for 48th. Sophomore Megan Goodwin is tied for 90th after carding a 171 (+27).

The Sooners will resume play at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, which is the final day of competition.
