Journal Entry No. 19 (August 31, 2004)
We're looking forward to opening the season with Bowling Green this weekend. We've just completed our two-a-days -- I had to miss about a week for a family funeral I attended.
Right now, we're getting the game plan and all our schemes ready. Everyone's excited. This is probably the most experienced team we've had at OU in some time. We have so many seniors and starters returning for the offense. Did you know we have 10 starters back?
On the defense, we lost a few guys but we'll plug in other guys that have had playing time -- they've all got experience. Then, think about our experience: Lance Mitchell, Dan Cody, Dusty Dvoracek, J.J. -- those guys can't wait to play and get the season started. I'm looking forward to watching our defense get after people.
I'll keep this short so I can start getting your questions and answer them next time. Just click the link below and send your questions my way. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my journal. See you Saturday at the stadium.
