Position Drills Dominate Tuesday

NORMAN, Okla. -- Temperatures eased into the upper eighties for Tuesday evening's football practice at the Rugby Fields in Norman. After enduring four practices and a 120-play scrimmage in the previous three days, Tuesday evening's session was the only of the day for the Sooner squad.

"They came out a bit tired today," said OU head coach Bob Stoops.  "But they worked through it and finished at a very good pace."

OU began practice with positional drills and special teams work.  The second half of practice featured a pass-only offense going against the Sooner defensive units.

"Jason White was slinging the ball everywhere and looked awesome," said Stoops.  "So did the other quarterbacks.  They are all working very well and the receiving group is catching it very well."

The Sooners will hit the fields twice on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. and again at 5:15 p.m. The second scrimmage of preseason practice is slated for 6 p.m. Thursday night at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
