NORMAN, Okla. -- Tentative start times have been set for Oklahoma's 2004 football games against Bowling Green, Oregon and Texas.
All three games have been picked up by ABC and will be televised to all or part of the country. The Bowling Green game, OU's season opener, will kickoff at 11 a.m., Sept. 4. The Oregon game is set for 2:30 p.m., on Sept. 18 and the Texas game is slated for 11 a.m., on Oct. 9. OU Athletics Director Joe Castiglione stressed that all of the information pertaining to the times and telecast coverage are subject to change.
"It's still June so we want everyone to understand that things could change," Castiglione said. "This is the best information available to us at this time. We know that many people schedule various events around our football dates and times so we want to communicate that information as soon as possible."
The Bowling Green game will be a regional telecast. The Oregon contest is a "split national" that will be seen across much of the country and the Texas game, the 99th edition of the Red River Shootout, is currently scheduled as a national telecast.
While the network has the contractual right to adjust the times of the games within two weeks of the contest date, it appears ABC will televise the OU-Texas game as part of a Big 12 doubleheader. The broadcast would mark the 13th time in the last 14 years that the game has been carried by ABC.
