NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma men's gymnast Josh Gore and tennis player Tommy Garrison were named to the 2004 CoSIDA District VI at-large academic team on Thursday.
Gore earned first team honors while Garrison was named to the second team.
 
Gore, a junior from Pflugerville, Texas, is studying zoology. In gymnastics competition, Gore collected All-America honors on the parallel bars with a third place finish during the event finals at the 2004 NCAA Championships.  Gore also won the parallel bars title at 2004 MPSF Championships with a 9.187 after qualifying with a 9.250.  
 
Tommy Garrison, undecided on a major, had a perfect 4.0 GPA.  The sophomore from Enid, Okla., amassed a 14-9 record in singles action and was 7-3 at No. 1 doubles this season. Garrison was named All-Big 12 Conference at doubles and earned Academic All-Big 12 first team honors for his work in the classroom.
 
CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) named 10 men to the first team and 10 to the second team based on both academic and athletic accomplishments throughout the year.
