Men's Golf In Fourth Place At Big 12 Championships

HUTCHINSON, Kan. -- The University of Oklahoma men's golf team is in fourth place after two rounds at the Big 12 Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Sooners shot a first-round 295 and a second-round 292, for a two-round total of 587 (+27). Four Oklahoma golfers finished the day in the top-25, including senior Blake Martin who is tied for fifth. The tournament is being held at the Prairie Dunes Country Club (par-70, 6,598 yards) in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Blake Martin (Stigler, Okla.) posted a first-round 70 and a second-round 74 for a total of 144 (+4). Just two strokes behind Martin is freshman Anthony Kim (La Quinta, Calif.) who is tied for 11th place. Kim recorded a six-stroke improvement in the second round for a total of 146 (+6).
Freshman Carlos Del Moral (Valencia, Spain), competing in his first Big 12 Championship finished the day with a total of 148 (+8) after carding a 73 in the the first-round. Senior Martin Flores (Mansfield, Texas) is tied for 22nd after shooting an opening round 76, and a second round 73 for a total of 149 (+9). Rounding out the scoring for the Sooners is senior Doug Manor (Garland, Texas) who is tied for 51st with a 155 (+15).
The Big 12 Golf Championships will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. Live scoring is available on www.golfstat.com.
