Womens Golf In Fourth At Big 12 Championships

The No. 17 Oklahoma women's golf team is in fourth place with a 607 after two rounds at the Big 12 Championships in College Station, Texas, after recording a second-round 308. The scheduled 8 a.m. shotgun start was delayed until 11:15 a.m. due to rain.
The University of Texas maintained its first-place standing and is in the lead with a 592. The Big 12 Championships are being held at the 6,242-yard, par-72 Pebble Creek Golf Course.
Senior Lisa Meldrum, a 2004 first-team all-conference member, remains tied for fourth place after shooting a second-round 75 (+3) for a two-round total of 147 (+3). Meldrum trails the leader, Annie Thurman (Oklahoma State), by 10 strokes. Senior Hope Edge fired a three-over-par 75 and is tied for 10th with a 149 (+5). Junior Emily Milberger is tied for 25th with a two-round total of 154 (+10) after carding a second-round 79 (+7). Freshman Jaclyn Stelzer shot a second-round 79 (+7) and is tied for 39th with a 157(+13). One stroke behind is sophomore Amparo Gala who is tied for 43rd after carding a second-round 158 (+14).
The final 18 holes of the 2004 Big 12 Championships will begin Sunday at 8 a.m. Fans can access live stats through www.golfstat.com.
