NORMAN, Okla. -- The standings in the United States Sports Academy Director's Cup have been updated to include the winter sports and Oklahoma has climbed to No. 14. Only one other Big 12 school, Texas, ranks ahead of the Sooners, and the Longhorns are No. 12.
Michigan holds the lead with 1,018.3 points, followed by Stanford at 957.75, Penn State 735.5, Florida 668 and Ohio State at 657.
OU has accumulated 480.75 points. Texas is at 528.75.
Other Big 12 schools include Nebraska at No. 16 (465.75), Colorado at No. 28 (381), Texas A&M at No. 35 (338), Oklahoma State at No. 40 (293), Missouri at No. 42 (289.5), Kansas State at No. 44 (280.5), Kansas at No. 53 (236.5), Baylor at No. 65 (181.75), Iowa State at No. 87 (132.75) and Texas Tech at No. 89 (127.5).
With three spring sports teams ranked among the nation's top 25, the Sooners could be poised for a strong finish.
Stanford is the eight-time defending champion in the cup race. The cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded in finishes up to 20 sports.
