NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma's football team went through a two and one-half hour practice Tuesday in the first of its 15 spring workouts.  Due to windy conditions in Norman, head coach Bob Stoops elected to move his squad inside to the Everest Training Center.

A few Sooners tried out new positions on Tuesday.  Dane Zaslaw, formerly a linebacker, took snaps at fullback, while Zach Latimer, previously a defensive end, lined up at linebacker.  Chris Chester, a tight end, worked with the offensive line much as he did during a small portion of the 2003 season.  He was at center for a time on Tuesday.

Former Nebraska head coach Frank Solich was in attendance for the practice as was former OU coaching great Barry Switzer.

LB Lance Mitchell, OU's leading tackler in 2002, was back on the practice field for the first time since a season-ending knee injury in the third game of the 2003 season.  QB Jason White, who had several phyiscal ailments addressed at the conclusion of the 2003 campaign, worked out with no difficulty.
