NORMAN, Okla. - The 2004 Winter Cup in Las Vegas kicked off on Friday with both sessions completed and assistant coach Guard Young. Young finished 10th in the all-around with a 53.625. In addition Young advanced to the event finals held on Saturday and will be competing on the still rings, vault and floor exercise.

Junior David Henderson was 10th on the vault with a 9.475 and was 30th in the all-around (51.200). Sophomore Jamie Henderson was 28th in the all-around (51.400).
"I was really happy with how we performed," said Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams. "We competed very well and the guys represented the university."
The Sooners performed solid but will not participate in the event finals on Saturday. Young (competing unattached) will compete in the event finals on Saturday starting at 8 p.m. (Pacific).
"With the re-ranking of the national team after today, Guard should stay on the national team," added Williams. It is possible he will get an international assignment out of his performance here today and that was his goal coming into this competition."
