Men's Golf Adds Del Moral to Roster

University of Oklahoma men's golf head coach Jim Ragan announced the addition of Carlos Del Moral (Valencia, Spain), who will make his first start as a Sooner next week in Waikoloa, Hawaii.

Del Moral is a decorated international player. “Carlos is a very good player who I feel will contribute immediately to our team. He is a solid individual who will bring a wealth of experience to our program. Carlos has already been a positive influence on our team during the short time he has been with us. I am very excited about his short and long term potential,” Ragan said.

A member of the Spanish National team, Del Moral has competed throughout Europe and worldwide. He was victorious in the 2002 Carris Trophy Competition (72-hole European stroke play event). Carlos has also won the Spanish Boy's Championship. He has also had success with high finishes at the Toyota World Junior Championships, European Boys Team Championship, and numerous other international events. His first tournament in the United States was at the Junior Orange Bowl Invitational in Miami where he finished fifth last December.

OU begins the spring season in the Waikoloa Intercollegiate at the par-72 Waikoloa Kings' Golf Course, which runs Feb. 11-13.
