WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Kevin Bookout scored all 12 of his points in the second half to lead Oklahoma to a 66-48 road victory over Purdue Wednesday night.

The Sooners (5-1) won their third game in a row with tough defense and timely offense.

Bookout was 0-for-4 in the first half, but hit two nifty baby hook shots to answer a furious Purdue rally and hand the Boilermakers (1-5) their fourth straight loss.  The junior went 6-for-6 from the field after halftime.

Brandon McKnight led Purdue with 15 points. He hit two 3-pointers in a row to spark a 12-0 run midway through the second half.

Box Score

The Sooners led 42-26 with just under 15 minutes to play before going scoreless on seven straight possessions, including five turnovers.

McKnight got things started, and David Teague capped it with a 3-pointer in the corner that brought the Boilermakers within 42-38 with 10 minutes to go.

But Bookout came right back with his hook shots, then tipped in an Oklahoma miss and stole a Purdue entry pass that led to a dunk to put the game out of reach.

Bookout then capped the 15-3 run with a dunk that had Purdue coach Gene Keady scowling and fans headed to the exit.

The Boilermakers were woeful on offense for most of the night, shooting 37 percent from the field. As the Sooners started to pull away in the second half, Teague didn't realize the shot clock was winding down and threw up a wild air ball, drawing boos from the home crowd.

The Sooners' five starters scored in double figures as Oklahoma shot 55 percent.  Sophomore point guard Drew Lavender finished with 11 points, five assists and three steals.

Lavender started after missing the team's last game against Coppin State because of suspension.

Lavender, Brandon Foust and Lawrence McKenzie served a one-game suspension for violating team rules during OU's recent trip to Alaska.  McKenzie scored eight points, all in the first half, off the bench.

The Sooners shot .549 from the field.  They have shot better than .500 in five of their six games.

Carl Landry had 13 points and nine rebounds for Purdue.
