NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- Freshman Longar Longar had a career-high 27 points in his first career start and Terrell Everett and Taj Gray each scored 18 as Oklahoma beat Florida A&M 104-45 Thursday night.

Forward Kevin Bookout sat out with an injury to his right elbow, but that simply gave more playing time to the freshman Longar, who also had seven rebounds in 32 minutes -- both career highs.

He made 10 of 13 field goals, was 7-for-8 from the free-throw line and topped off the performance with two rim-rattling two-handed jams in the final few minutes.

It was Oklahoma's highest point total since a 109-50 win against Eastern Illinois on Dec. 18, 2001.

Oklahoma spokesman Mike Houck said Bookout had an ulnar nerve contusion in his right elbow and was resting the arm. Houck said Bookout had played with the injury in the Sooners' past two games. Bookout scored 10 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 38 minutes against Tulsa and had 7 points in 37 minutes in the previous game against Southwest Missouri State.

Bookout was in uniform on the Sooners' bench and congratulated teammates by slapping hands using using his left -- or less dominant -- hand. Bookout had started all of the Sooners' previous 10 games and averaged 12.2 points and 6.1 rebounds. His 65 percent shooting mark leads the Big 12.

Houck said the injury was not related to a problematic shoulder that resulted in season-ending surgery last season.

Oklahoma guard Drew Lavender played with a broken right index finger and scored nine points in 24 minutes.

Oklahoma broke the game open early with a 19-3 run midway through the first half as the Rattlers went more than five minutes without a field goal. Gray made it 30-11 on a two-handed jam off an alley-oop pass from Everett.

Another 17-2 spurt stretched the Oklahoma lead to 50-18 following a basket inside by Gray. The Sooners led 50-20 at halftime.

Darius Glover scored the first 10 points of the second half for the Rattlers (2-7), who will play their first home game of the season on Jan. 6. Glover finished with 17 points and Tony Tate scored 10.

Oklahoma continued to pull away in the second half, and Gray made it 76-33 with a thunderous right-handed jam after a nifty spin move on the baseline.

The Rattlers were never closer than 30 after the first minute of the second half.
