NORMAN, Okla. -- Three Oklahoma Sooners have been named to the American Football Coaches Association All-America teams. The three are OT Jammal Brown, WR Mark Clayton and RB Adrian Peterson.
The AFCA Coaches' All-America Team is made up of players from NCAA Division I-A institutions. It has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all four of its divisions.
The honorees are selected by a panel of coaches.
Clayton caught 54 passes for 749 yards during the Sooners' unbeaten run through the Big 12.

Brown, an Outland Trophy finalist, is one of three returning All-Americans on this year's AFCA team. He helped clear the way for a Sooner offense that averaged 213.2 yards per game on the ground this season.
Peterson, who has rushed for 1,671 yards, has been one of the most noteworthy stories of the college football season. He is a finalist for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's top running back, and is the first freshman ever considered for the honor.
With 57 honorees making the team 49 times, Oklahoma has had more players named to the AFCA than any other college program. It is followed by They are followed by Notre Dame (55/48); Ohio State (49/37); Michigan (48 /43); Nebraska (49/44) and Southern California (48/43).
The AFCA's Division I-A All-America Selection Committee is made up of three head coaches from each of the AFCA's nine I-A districts, one of whom serves as a district chairman, along with another head coach who serves as the chairman of the selection committee.
The coaches in each district are responsible for ranking the top players in their respective districts, that information, along with ballots submitted by I-A head coaches, are used to select the AFCA I-A Coaches' All-America Team.
