J.D. Runnels Online Journal: Week 13

November 23, 2004 | Football

NORMAN, Okla. J.D. Runnels records the 13th installment of his online player journal to take Sooner fans behind the scenes.

The Oklahoma Sooners capped their 19th undefeated regular season with a 35-0 rout of Baylor. J.D. caught two passes for 19 yards, punishing the Bears' defense along the way. His pass protection and blocking was also flawless as Jason White was not sacked for the second consecutive game and the team rushed for over 300 yards.

The Sooners are off Thanksgiving weekend, but before the campus goes home for the break, J.D. wanted to send a quick message.

Journal Entry No. 13 (Nov. 23, 2004)

Well, we achieved our first goal of the season, going undefeated on our way to the Big 12 Conference championship game. Our 'Finish' motto held us strong this year as we escaped from some situations that bit us in the past.

Before the team goes home for the weekend, I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and to be safe and responsible as you travel this weekend. I'm going to enjoy some time off before heading up to Owasso to see Carl Albert play East Central in the state semifinals.

After that, we're off to Kansas City where we'll try to achieve our next goal -- the Big 12 Championship.

Until then, Boomer Sooner!
