NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma defensive end Dan Cody has been named a semifinalist for the inaugural Ronnie Lott Trophy. The award, presented by the Pacific Impact Foundation of Newport Beach, Calif., recognizes a college defensive player and places equal value on personal character and athletic performance.
Other semifinalists for the award are Southern Mississippi's Michael Boley, USC's Shaun Cody, Texas' Derrick Johnson, Wisconsin's Him Leonhard, Georgia's David Pollack and LSU's Marcus Spears.
Some 500 national judges are now voting no the honor. The finalists will be named on Nov. 29. The award presentation is set for Dec. 12 in Newport Beach.
