Are You Ready for Some Football?

The Kansas City Chiefs host the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots at Arrowhead Stadium tonight.

Although the Chiefs are 3-6, they have beaten the Patriots in their past eight meetings in Kansas City.

Former Sooners William Bartee and Jimmy Wilkerson play on the Chiefs' defense. Bartee has 21 tackles and three pass deflections this season. Wilkerson has six tackles in 2004.

Kickoff is schedule for 8 p.m. CST.

Three and Out

Edgerrin James ran for 204 yards and Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes as the Indianapolis Colts beat up the Chicago Bears 41-10.

The pair sat out the fourth quarter.

Former Sooner Tommie Harris had two tackles as part of a Bear defense that gave up 7.3 yards per play.

The Bears travel to Texas for Thanksgiving, matching up with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Dallas & Baltimore

Kyle Boller took advantage of a injury-plagued Dallas Cowboys secondary, completing 13 of 20 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the second half.

The Baltimore Ravens scored all of their points in the final two quarters, beating Dallas 30-10.

Dallas' rookie quarterback Drew Henson saw his first action of the season when an ailing Vinny Testaverde was replaced late in the fourth quarter. Henson's first snap was inauspicious at best.

Henson fumbled the ball which the Ravens then converted into their final touchdown.

Henson did, however, put together an impressive drive, going 6-for-6 and throwing the Cowboys only touchdown.

Former OU defensive lineman Kelly Gregg made six tackles for the Ravens' D'.

Cowboy Roy Williams had four tackles.

The Ravens travel to Foxboro, Mass., for their game with the New England Patriots next Sunday.

Tryptophan Kicking In Early

The San Francisco 49ers lost their fifth-straight game, 35-3, to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tim Rattay was sacked five times and turned the ball over twice as the 49ers were held to 197 yards of total offense, 147 of which were from Rattay's passing.

Former Sooner Corey Ivy had one tackle for Tampa's special teams.

49ers Brandon Moore, a former OU linebacker, also had one stop.

The Buccaneers next play the Carolina Panthers. San Francisco may have a chance at a win next Sunday when they host the Miami Dolphins.

Late Heroics

The Minnesota Vikings shut out the Detroit Lions' offense in the second half, overcame a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter and ended their three-game losing streak with a 22-19 victory.

Duante Culpepper completed 22 of 32 passes for 233 yards and two scores without the aid of Randy Moss, whose hamstring injury kept him out of the action for the fifth-straight week.

Former Oklahoma tight end Stephen Alexander was Joey Harrington's primary receiver, catching four passes for 27 yards and the Lions' only offense touchdown.

Teddy Lehman had a game-high seven tackles as the Detroit defense grounded the Vikings. Culpepper was Minnesota's leading rusher with 35 yards.

The Lions host the Indianapolis Colts on Thanksgiving Day.

Pleasant Returns

Steve McNair returned to the lineup and led the injury-plagued Tennessee Titans to an 18-15 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

McNair completed 18 of 35 passes for 209 yards and one touchdown in his first action in three weeks.

Former OU All-American Rocky Calmus also returned after a lengthy period of inactivity while he was recovering from leg and back injuries.

Calmus, who started at linebacker, made five tackles and recovered a fumble by Jacksonville's Fred Taylor late in the first quarter.

Andre Woolfolk, another Sooner on the Titans' defense, had two tackles in the game.

Tennessee next plays the Houston Texans.

Sunday Night Excitement

Brett Favre moved Green Bay into scoring position with a flawless two-minute drill and Ryan Longwell kicked a 46-yard field goal as time expired, sending the Packers to their fifth straight win, 16-13 over the Houston Texans.

Packer reserve linebacker Torrance Marshall had two special teams tackles in the game.

Next Monday, Green Bay hosts the St. Louis Rams.

Injury Bugged

New York Jets' cornerback Derrick Strait suited up for his first game in six weeks but did not play.

Oakland Raider Travian Smith missed his sixth-consecutive contest recuperating from a knee injury.

The Broncos placed the Quentin Griffin (1999-2002) on injured reserve Wednesday, Oct. 27, after suffering a torn right anterior cruciate ligament during the second-half kickoff of a 23-10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Griffin rushed for 311 yards and two touchdowns in six games this season.

Former OU tight end Trent Smith (1999-2002) was placed on the injured reserve list by the Baltimore Ravens Aug. 31 and will miss his second consecutive season after, again, breaking his leg in a preseason game. Smith broke the leg in the Ravens' first preseason game versus the Atlanta Falcons.

New York Giants' and former OU defensive tackle Martin Chase (1994-97) was also placed on the IR with a knee injury and will sit out the 2004 season.
