Sooners Finish Third At The Kent Youel Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished the Kent Youel Invitational in third place after carding a 300 (+12) in the final round and finishing the tournament with a 893 (+29). The Sooners were able to move up in the rankings after the third round and knocked Oregon down to fourth place. UCLA won the tournament title and finished with a 859 (-5).

Senior Emily Milberger finished as one of the top individual scorers in the tournament after shooting a 73 (+1) in the third round and ending with a 217 (+1). Junior Amparo Gala tied for 12th after carding a third-round score of 77 (+5) and finished with a 222 (+6). After shooting a 75 (+3) in the third round, freshman Kelly Jacques tied for 14th with a final score of 223 (+7). Freshman Heather Wright rounded out the scoring for the Sooners after shooting a 78 (+6) in the final round and finished the tournament tied for 51st with a 237 (+21).

The Kent Youel Invitational marked the final tournament for the team for the fall 2004 season. The Sooners will return to action in February at the Puerto Rico Invitational in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
