Journal Entry No. 14 (Jan. 28, 2004)
What's up Sooner fans? I had an OK time down at the Sugar Bowl -- obviously it would have been better had we won.

I guess everyone knows I decided to come back for my senior season. I just felt that there's still things I need to learn. I have insurance to cover my body so money's not really an issue. The key for me is to get better and get more experience before I have a chance at the next level.

I talked things over with my family and my coaches before making my decision. They told me to do what was best for me -- and what I felt in the end was that I wanted to continue to grow and learn from Coach Wilson. I prayed about it and this is what I came up with. I'm not going to regret anything.

So, I made the decision and I'm looking forward to being a Sooner again next season.

Now, we're starting to get busy in the offseason. We had a couple weeks off and this week we're going to do a little bit of testing to see where we stand on conditioning. We're going to start winter conditioning probably next week. We'll run 40's and lift to see what we need to work on.

During this time of the year, we usually work on our speed and improving things like being able to change directions. We stretch a lot to improve our flexibility.

We have a lot more free time now than during the season. More time to study and be social. More time to see my family and my girlfriend.

I'll continue my journal so you can ask me about our offseason -- what we're doing in workouts or if we're changing anything. I'll let you know about new lifts or how everyone's coming along -- things like that. I'd be happy to share my observations. So, go ahead and ask me a question for my next journal entry. The link is listed below.

I'm looking forward to this fall. Oklahoma always plays well in the Orange Bowl. We have our goals set.
