Rafael Maturino, E.K. Waldhaus and Justin Dyer won their matches to spark the Sooners and give them momentum to win the meet.  Maturino, at 165 pounds, won his match by a major decision unloading on his opponent in the third period.  Maturino picked up seven points in that last period to win the match 11-3.

Waldhaus also won his match by major decision at 174 pounds, only allowing one point to his opponent.  Waldhaus scored a takedown in the first period, then allowed an escape.  He rolled off 11 unanswered points throughout the rest of the match to win it by a score of 13-1.

The Sooners third match at 184 pounds, saw Dyer not give up any points to his opponent winning by a technical fall, 18-0.  Dyer evened his points out during the match relentlessly trying to pin his opponent.

Heavyweight Leonce Crump came close to scoring his fourth major decision of the year winning by an 8-1 decision.  Crump took his time in this match only scoring four points and allowing one through two periods.  Then in the third, Crump scored four more points getting a takedown with five seconds left to go up 7-1.  Crump added 1:53 of riding time made the final score.

The Sooners final win of the night came from defending national champion Ware.  Ware would strike fast scoring a takedown at the 2:39 mark.  That would hold up through the first period making the score 2-0.  Ware chose down in the second period getting a reversal at 1:52 to make the score 4-0.  Ware would only need a few more seconds to pin his opponent at the 3:17 mark.  The fall would give the Sooners their last points of the meet with 22, as they would have to hold off Arizona State.

The Sundevils would win the last two matches of the night by a decision over 149 pound Jeff Ecklof and a fall against Charles Jones at 157 pounds.  In one of the more entertaining match of the night, ninth ranked Ecklof would battle 14th ranked Patrick Williams in a grueling match that saw Williams score a takedown with 28 seconds left to win the match by a 7-4 decision.  The Sooners lost these last two, but hold off the Sundevils to win the meet 22-18.
