Noah Allen, a reserve quarterback on the University of Oklahoma football team, has notified Sooner coaches that he will not return to OU for the spring semester, and that he plans to transfer to Sam Houston State.
Allen, who redshirted in 2002 and worked in a reserve role in 2003, played in three games during the recently completed season, but logged no statistics.
Allen is a native of Pearland, Texas. He was ranked among the top 25 high school quarterbacks in the nation when he signed with OU. As a senior, he completed 134-of-267 passes for 2,047 yards and 20 touchdowns with only two interceptions.
His departure leaves three quarterbacks in the OU camp for spring practice. Those three are Jason White, Paul Thompson and Tommy Grady.
