Mitchell and Harris Named CBS Sportsline.com All-Americans

The preseason accolades just keep rolling in for the Oklahoma football team as senior linebacker Lance Mitchell and junior defensive tackle Tommie Harris were both named to the CBS Sportsline.com Preseason All-American Team on Monday.

The defensive standouts are only two of four Big 12 Conference players chosen to the team, and the only two on defense, with the others being Texas wide receiver Roy Williams and Kansas State offensive lineman Nick Leckey.

Mitchell, a second team All-American by CNNSI.com and the consensus Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year last season, returns to the middle linebacker position where he led the team with 124 tackles in 2002.

Harris heads into his 2003 campaign after earning finalist recognition for the Bednarik and Lombardi Awards as a sophomore. A consensus first team All-Big 12 selection in 2002, he also racked up several first team All-American honors by the Associated Press, Walter Camp Foundation and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA).
