Stoops Talks About Offensive Line After Morning Workout

August 15, 2003 | Football

Head coach Bob Stoops and his top-ranked Sooners completed the first of two practices today at the OU Intramural fields.

The Sooners return to the field this afternoon at 6 p.m. to conclude their first full week of preseason practices. The squad will also participate in its second preseason scrimmage Saturday at 6 p.m. inside the Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium.

The following are comments from head coach Bob Stoops:

Day before a scrimmage, did you do anything different?
"We had our normal morning practice. It was fine. It was good."

Progress of the offensive line:
"They still need to get better and I believe they are. There's still work to be done. I like the way they are working, staying on the field and playing together. They need to keep getting better if they are going to be the unit we expect them to be."

Scrimmage tomorrow:|
"We will continue to work on everything... trying to move the ball, defense, tackle well and be all around sound. We'll work on making plays in every part of the game. We'll have situations like we did last time, short yardage, red zone and moving the ball. We'll do that again."
