Indoor, Outdoor Sooners In Nightcap

Oklahoma's football team began its evening practice outdoors, but when rain began falling and lightning was visible east of the Intramural Fields, the team moved to the Everest Indoor Complex for the final two-thirds of the workout.

The practice marked the first of the season for true freshman quarterback Tommy Grady, who recently received clearance from the NCAA to begin his college career.  The Huntington Beach, Calif., native participated in nearly all of the quarterback drills.

OU will conduct a single practice on Thursday.  It begins at 8:30 a.m., at the Intramural Fields.

Here are the comments of Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops following Wednesday's evening practice ...

On Jason White:  "He looked really sharp tonight.  He was throwing the ball well, scrambling around, avoiding the rush and doing what he was awfully good at doing."

On Jejuan Rankins: "Jejuan makes great catches.  He's very competitve and has sure hands.  We believe he has a chance to make an impact this year and hope he will."

On Joe John Finley: "Joe Jon is doing well.  He runs good routes, he has good speed.  He's a tough guy.  He's got a chance to play."

On Paul Thompson: "It's like night and day and it should be.  He's a lot more comfortable and sure of himself.  He's looked good here in camp."
