Castiglione Named to NFF Board of Directors

NORMAN, Okla. - University of Oklahoma Athletics Director Joe Castiglione has been named to the board of directors for the National Football Foundation and College Football Hall of Fame. His appointment is effective immediately.

Others serving on the board include numerous corporate executives and names familiar in the sports world including George Steinbrenner, Gene Washington, Willie Lanier, Grant Teaff and Archie Manning.

The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame is a multifaceted not-for-profit educational organization dedicated to the promotion of amateur football.

Through a network of 118 chapters located throughout the nation and a membership of more than 10,000, the NFF supports a number of initiatives, which promote the game, preserve its history, and ensure its future. The chapters emphasize the educational benefits associated with football and provide educational opportunities for parents, players and coaches. To date, over 30,000 national and local scholar-athletes have been recognized and awarded with more than $8 million in scholarship grants. In addition, thousands of local coaches, officials and administrators who have given themselves to the game have been honored with special awards.

The NFF is aligned with the College Football Hall of Fame, the Bowl Championship Series and the MacArthur Bowl among other programs.
