Women's Golf Team Ties For Tenth At NCAA Central Regional

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished tied for tenth with a 936 at the NCAA Central Regional in Lincoln, Neb. The Sooners recorded a final-round 330 and were just two strokes from finishing eighth which would have given them a bid to the NCAA Championships. California won the regional title by 20 strokes over Kent State.
Junior Lisa Meldrum led the Sooners and finished tied for ninth after recording a final-round 81 and finishing with 226 total strokes. In her final collegiate tournament, senior Allison Johnson shot a third-round 86 to finished tied for 39th with a 235. Freshman Amparo Gala finished tied for 54th with a 239 after recording a final-round 82. Sophomore Emily Milberger carded an 81 today and finished tied for 59th with a 240 while junior Hope Edge finished tied for 72nd after recording a third-round 86 for a total of 243.
The top eight teams from this regional will go on to compete at the NCAA Championships May 20-23.
