Women's Golf Team Finishes Fourth At Big 12 Championships

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished fourth with a 923 at the Big 12 Championships in Columbia, Mo., today. The Sooners fired a final-round 304, which tied Oklahoma State for the lowest round of the day to move up from yesterday's fifth-place standing. Oklahoma State edged out Missouri by one stroke to win the Big 12 title for the third straight year. The tournament was played at the 6,008-yard, par-72, Country Club of Missouri.
Junior Hope Edge led the way for the Sooners after recording a final-round 77 to finish tied for 11th with a 230. Freshman Amparo Gala shot a 75 for the second consecutive day for a total of 231 to finish tied for 14th. Junior Lisa Meldrum tied for 19th with 234 total strokes after carding a final-round 83 while senior Allison Johnson recorded a 77 today to finish tied for 25th with a 236. Sophomore Emily Milberger shot a 75, the best round of the day for the Sooners, and tied for 35th with a 240.
The Sooners will begin preparations for the NCAA Regionals which will be held May 8-10.
