Women's Golf Team In Sixth Place At Big 12 Championships

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team fired a first-round 314 and is in sixth place at the Big 12 Championships in Columbia, Mo. Leading the field is Missouri with 304 total strokes.

The tournament is being held at the 6,008-yard, par-72, Country Club of Missouri.

Junior Lisa Meldrum is leading the Sooner squad and is tied for fifth after carding a first-round 76 (+4). Meldrum only trails tournament leader Christi Cano of Oklahoma State by three strokes. Senior Allison Johnson recorded a 77 (+5) and is tied for 11th after 18 holes. Junior Hope Edge is tied for 25th with an 80 (+8) while freshman Amparo Gala is tied for 33rd after recording an 81 (+9). Rounding out the Sooner squad is sophomore Emily Milberger who shot an 83 (+11) and is tied for 43rd.

The Sooners will begin second-round play Tuesday morning at 8 a.m.
