OU Women Golfers In Fourth Place After First Round In Austin

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team shot a 312 Sunday and is in fourth place after first-round action at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas. The Sooners trail first-place Oklahoma State by 17 strokes. The 12-team field is playing at the 6,247-yard, par-72 Hills Country Club.
Freshman Amparo Gala is leading the Sooners and is in fifth place with 74 strokes, her career low. Junior Hope Edge recorded a 76 and is tied for 10th place. Junior Lisa Meldrum is tied for 30th after carding an 80 while senior teammate Allison Johnson is tied for 41st with a score of 82. Sophomore Emily Milberger recorded an 84 and is tied for 48th after the first round. Freshman Cathryn Uselton is competing as an individual and is tied for 63rd after shooting a 91.
The Sooners will resume play at 7:30 a.m. Monday and the tournament will conclude Tuesday.
