NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team shot a final-round 320 at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic to finish in 12th place with a total of 930. Claiming the tournament title was Duke with a total score of 872.
The 15-team field played at the 6,000-yard, par-72 Palmas Del Mar Country Club in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The tournament featured 12 of the top 30 teams in the Golfweek rankings.
Junior Lisa Meldrum shot a third-round 77 and tied for 23rd place with a total of 228. Freshman Amparo Gala, playing in just her second collegiate tournament, tied for 38th after recording a 76 today for a total of 232. Junior Hope Edge shot an 88 and tied for 54th with 238 total strokes while senior Allison Johnson shot an 80 for the third consecutive round and placed 59th for a total of 240. Sophomore Emily Milberger tied for 60th with a total of 241 after posting an 87 in the final round.
The Sooners will return to action March 9-11 at the Lady Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Florida.
