NORMAN, Okla. - Senior Josh Landis of the Oklahoma men's gymnastics team was named the NCAA Midwest Gymnast of the Week by Inside Gymnastics Magazine. The OU men's gymnastics program has received nine weekly awards during six weeks of competition. Landis also received the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week Award on Feb. 10.
"It is an honor to receive this national recognition," said Landis. "This award is due to the progress and achievements of our team. I have to thank my teammates for pushing me to succeed. Hopefully we can continue to improve as a team and earn ourselves a higher seeding (currently No. 3) as we try to defend our national championship at the NCAA's."
