OU offensive tackle Jammal Brown takes Sooner fans behind the scenes as Oklahoma plays its 2003 season. Brown gives us his perspective from the offensive side of the team.

Jammal, what are you guys saying to each other when you circle up at midfield just before the game?
- Steve from Ramstein Air Base, Germany

Before the game, we chant "We're Ready!". It's just something to get us fired up. It's a song from Archie Lee that came out a year ago. We punt the ball to Perk (Antonio Perkins) at midfield and usually Clint Ingram gets it going.

Jammal, what was the hardest thing for you to switch to offense?
- Warren from Tulsa, Oklahoma

Basically, knowing the plays and knowing when to be aggressive. Playing defense, you can be physical all the time. Playing offense, there's certain plays that you have to finesse and other plays that you can try to dominate. So, I had to learn when I can be physical. Different plays require different blocking styles. I had to learn how to be patient, how to wait and how to use my hands. It was something I had to learn.

You guys have inter-squad scrimmages for the reserves and redshirts. Is there a player that's the team's favorite to watch?
- Michael from Kansas City, Missouri

We call it "Monday Night Football" when the redshirt freshman and the other guys play. We're usually conditioning while they play but after we're done, we get to watch the younger guys for a little bit. Guys that stick out to me are Tony Cade, Tashard Choice and Moe Dampeer. I mean, Moe's gonna be great. Tony Cade's a fierce hitter -- kinda reminds you of Brandon Everage and Tashard Choice has vision and some moves. He just runs so smooth. Those guys are going to be real good in the future.

Jammal, what do you like to do in your spare time outside football?
- Chelsie from Amarillo, Texas

In my spare time, I'm really kind of a girly guy (laughs). I like to get manicures and pedicures. I like to shop. I like to buy clothes -- I gotta stay sharp. To get clothes for a 300-pounder isn't easy. I can wear clothes from some big and tall sections at certain stores. I do a lot of catalog shopping. I like to pamper myself. Like tonight, after studying, I'll go home and watch some TV and hang out with my girlfriend. We like to go shop together, go to the movies, dinners -- just hang out like everyone else.

Did you ever think when you were a little kid that you would be where you are now with everyone knowing your name and people mentioning you for awards and the NFL?
- Jeff from Lawton, Oklahoma

As a little kid, I mean, I always wanted to play football. I also wanted to be a fireman and an eye doctor. Until I realized how much school you had to take! I've always had a love for football and I remember telling myself when I was little that I was going to attend Florida State and play football -- because that was my favorite team. But, things have worked out. I could have gone to Florida State but I didn't. I kind of grew out of them. Things work out for the best.

As a little kid, I thought that I'd play football but I didn't think that it would work out this good. I didn't think that I was going to be able to play like I can now. In high school, my junior year, I started getting interest and I was thinking, "Wow, this is for real and I'm going to be playing college ball." So, it's just all a blessing and I thank the Lord for giving me the opportunity.

It's been a long road. Mine wasn't a straight shot. I had troubles in school and stuff like that. I got injured in practice and I moved defense to offense. I had a lot of setbacks that caused me to think that maybe football wasn't for me. But, I stayed strong and it ended up that this was what I was supposed to do.

What's the best prank you've pulled on another guy on the team?
- Christine from Mobile, Alabama

We don't really do just one big prank. Me and a couple of the other guys will gang up on someone and talk bad about them. Just mess with them and get everyone laughing. Everyone looks at me to get it started. They want me to set it off and get it started. It's all in fun and never goes past that. We're a good team and we love each other.
