Norman, Okla. - Big 12 Special Order Sports, Fox Sports Net's pay-per-view division, will produce and distribute on a pay-per-view basis the Sept. 14 Oklahoma-UT El Paso college football game to participating cable television systems in Texas and Oklahoma and nationally to DIRECTV satellite customers everywhere. Suggested retail price is $29.95. Kickoff is 6 PM CT from Memorial Stadium in Norman.
This marks the first time that an OU pay per view telecast outside of the state of Oklahoma.
The game is being televised on pay-per-view because it was not selected for over-the-air broadcast or cable television coverage. Under conference TV rules, games not picked up for regular television distribution can only be televised pay-per-view.
A list of participating cable and satellite TV systems offering the pay-per-view telecast will be announced next week.
The game will be replayed throughout Fox Sports Net's Southwest region (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and parts of New Mexico) on Sunday, Sept. 15 at 2:00 AM CT.
Bob Carpenter (play-by-play), former two-time national champion OU quarterback Dean Blevins (analyst) and KOKH sports director Zach Klein form the announcing team.
