Sept. 4, 2002
NORMAN, Okla. - Coming off a dissapointing loss on Tuesday night to Arkansas, the Oklahoma volleyball team looks to build momentum against some Sooner greats of the past. The alumni game is slated for 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Howard McCasland Field House, just north of the football statdium where OU plays Alabama at 2:30 p.m.
"We'd love to see the OU faithful make a day of it," said OU Head Coach Kalani Mahi. "Come join us early and watch some great Oklahoma athletes, both current and former. Then cross the street and you're at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium for the biggest football game so far this season."
While the roster is yet to be finalized for the alumni, Coach Mahi expects a large turn out. Partly due to the number of alumni in town for the football game.
OU volleyball battles regional rival Oral Roberts Tuesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Howard McCasland Field House. That weekend, the Sooners travel to Tulsa University for the Ewing-Grover Oldsmobilie/GMC Invitational from Sept. 13-14.
