OU Women's Golf Team Tied For Second In New Mexico

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team shot the second-best round of the day at the Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and is tied for second with the University of Washington. The Sooners recorded a second-round score of 296 for a total of 597 placing OU eight strokes behind first-place New Mexico.

The tournament is being played at the 6,069-yard, par-73 New Mexico Championship Golf Course and includes a 19-team field.

OU junior Lisa Meldrum is in first place after carding a three-under-par 70 for a two-round total of 140. Meldrum is 6-under-par on the tournament. Senior Allison Johnson's second-round 70 ties her for 11th place with a total of 148 while junior Hope Edge shot a 77 and is tied for 25th with a total of 154. Sophomore Emily Milberger recorded an 89 and has a two-round score of 155 (tied for 31st). Freshman Cathryn Uselton's second-round 87 gives her 173 strokes and a 96th-place standing.

The tournament will conclude Saturday with an 8 a.m. (MST) start.
