OU Women's Golf Team In 4th Place At Dick McGuire Invitational

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team is in fourth place at the Dick McGuire Invitational after recording a first-round score of 301. The Sooners trail first-place New Mexico by four strokes. The 19-team field is playing at the 6,069-yard, par-73 University of New Mexico Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
The Sooners finished the day as the lowest scoring Big 12 team, ahead of Texas (303), Texas Tech (310), Texas A&M (314) and Baylor (316).
OU Junior Lisa Meldrum continued her strong play this fall and is tied for second place with a 3-under-par 70, just two strokes behind New Mexcio State's Rachel Bailey. Sophomore Emily Milberger shot a 76 (tied for 24th place), while junior Hope Edge carded a 77 (tied for 33rd). Senior Allison Johnson is tied for 40th place with a first-round score of 78. Freshman Cathryn Uselton recorded an 85 and is tied for 89th place.
The Sooners will resume play at 8:30 a.m. (MST) Friday and conclude tournament play on Saturday.
