OU Women's Golf Team In 13th Place At NCAA Fall Preview

NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Oklahoma women's golf team recorded the eighth-best round of the day at the NCAA Fall Preview in West Lafayette, Ind., and is in 13th place out of 18 teams. The Sooners shot a second-round score of 306 for a total of 620 to put them 26 strokes behind first-place Oklahoma State. The Sooners were delayed this morning approximately 90 minutes due to fog.

Junior Lisa Meldrum is tied for 13th out of 90 golfers with a two-round score of 149 after shooting a 74 today. Senior Allison Johnson is tied for 50th with a score of 156 after carding an 74 in today's round, eight strokes better than her Sunday round. Junior Hope Edge recorded an 80 to bring her two-round total to 157 and tie her for 58th place while sophomore Emily Milberger is tied for 61st with a two-round score of 158. Milberger shot a 78 today. Freshman Cathryn Uselton's second-round 81 gives her 170 strokes and an 86th-place standing. Like Johnson, Uselton shaved off eight strokes from her opening-round score.

The tournament is being played at the 6,225-yard, par-72 Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex Kampen Course and features 18 of the 24 teams that competed in last year's NCAA Championships. Oklahoma will conclude the tournament tomorrow morning at 8:30 with a shotgun start.
