Norman, Okla.-

Just weeks after finishing third in the USA National Gymnastics Championships in Cleveland, Ohio, Guard Young traveled with other national team members to China for a dual meet. The meet, China vs. USA, was solely a team competition with no individual honors awarded.

Young posted solid scores on every event, highlighted by a 9.600 on the floor exercise and a 9.400 on the vault.

"It was truly an honor to represent my country and the Sooners in China, especially considering they are the world champions", said Young. "As a coach and an athlete it was an excellent opportunity to learn from their unique training methods, and hopefully I can pass that along to our team (Oklahoma)."

This is the sixth time Young has qualified for the national team. Team USA travels to Hungary for the World Championships in November. -OU-
